Warm welcome!

Friends of Ashley Braden!

And listeners of the Special Kind of Motherhood Podcast.

This is Sharon and I am a special needs caregiver, just like you, and a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP) supporting special needs parents and caregivers, as well as persons living with Autism, picky eating and other health challenges.

Here's the audio recording I have specially prepared for you on how stress can deplete our bodies of nutrients, and how whole foods can help replenish us so that we can continue to steward our bodies well and work for His glory!

You are not alone in you and your special one's healing journey! Remember, the Lord Jesus Christ is the Great Physician and our hope is in Him. Amen!

WHO AM I? (NOTHING WITHOUT THE LORD!)

I am a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP) who help special needs parents and caregivers better their health and enjoy their special family again.

I've helped myself and clients regulate our stress response, balance blood sugar (in support of metabolic health) and maintain healthy weight (beyond BMI and without counting calories).

I've also supported neurodiverse persons with Mild Intellectual Disability, Autism and other conditions on their health challenges.

My signature POSSIBLE approach comes down to

    • Honouring how we are created
    • Respecting the individuality of each person, even persons with special needs
    • Supporting families in cultivating positive meal experiences as part of their family relationship building and culture

I believe in stewarding and building one's health foundations by considering one's faith, relationships, lifestyle and nutrition. When we are well, we are better equipped to fulfil the work we've been called to do.

A special needs caregiver myself for 20+ years, I enjoy edible gardening, going on nature trails and am rediscovering play.
